No One Will Escape God’s Justice

Fr Steven Allen of Saint Spyridon Orthodox Church in St Clair Shores, MI, clearly explains the importance of remembering that Christ is the Master of the universe, and not our own self.  Because of our pride, we often become upset if things do not go the way we had planned them, forgetting that Christ loves us and wants the best for us, and hence may have a plan different than our own.  As a result of our fallen nature, there are many injustices in this world.  Only Christ can restore justice.  We must stay within the Church, which is Orthodoxy, and do our best to live an Orthodox life.

Everything in the universe is under God’s absolute sovereignty, including devils and evil men.  God does not desire that they do evil, but in foreknowledge of the evil they will commit, He plans everything for the salvation of those who believe in Him.  As St. Paul says in Romans, “‘And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” (Rom. 8:28)  When we submit our wills unreservedly to God’s sovereignty over our lives, we will have peace.
